The Barber Club: A Youth-Inspired Grooming Experience with a Private Club Atmosphere
Tasked with creating a distinctive men’s grooming experience in the competitive Brighton market, we designed a space that is both memorable and deeply connected to local culture. Drawing inspiration from Brighton's subversive youth culture, Graham Greene’s Brighton Rock, and the iconic Mods vs. Rockers stand-offs, we crafted an environment that feels like a private club where clients can hang out with friends.
The design features a dark, club-like atmosphere with lightboxes displaying gang names from Brighton Rock above each cutting station. Vespa mirrors, Triumph bike headlights, and gang patches on the seating add authentic touches that resonate with the youth tribe aesthetic. A drink from the feature bar welcomes clients, while the basement lounge offers an extensive vinyl collection and vintage video games. The combination of a private club vibe, unique design, and cultural references has made The Barber Club a standout brand in the grooming sector.
